VOYAGES: A Musical Play
David Schaefer wrote book, music, & lyrics for “Stars” (a musical play for young people),
“Giving Birth to Yourself” (three woman of completely different backgrounds in a
support group), and “Voyages” (about the lives of Jewish refugees aboard the
S.S. St. Louis, bound for Havana in 1939.)
He wrote music & lyrics for “Christmas with the King Sisters” and “Run of DeMille”
for God’s Love We Deliver.
In addition, he composed "Manhattan Carnival", "Birds of a Feather", and
"A Day at Central Park" for the Goldman Memorial Band. He has also written
numerous liturgical works for diverse denominations.
A native New Yorker, he is married to singer/director Debbi Burdett
